![]() The Shadow Leviathan was annoying, but again, you can tank 3 hits in the sea truck before you need to repair, so you can kill that one too by raming into it and repairing when below 50% (my first encounter with one ended like this. The Ice worm was just annoying, and I don't know if that is because it is still being properly implemented, but all it ever did was make me get off the Snow Fox, which created 4 seconds of me getting back on it and then just travelling on without real danger. And I am still indimidated by the reapers even now. This is meant to the Below Zero's reaper. My second encounter with a Chelicerate ended with me killing it like this. OR you can do what I did and just ram into it until I got below 50%, then get out and repair until I heard it come back to attack again. After each attack it swims away pretty far giving you time to get out of the truck to repair yourself. The Chelicerate do very little damage to even the Sea truck, and you can stand to tank 4 grabs from it before it breaks your truck. When I played this game, however, I find that the Leviathans don't bother me at all. So, I knew already from the first game that the Leviathans were hit-or-miss at best. I wasn't intimidated by the Ghost or the Sea Dragon leviathans at all, but part of that was access to the Cyclops and the Prawn. That made exploring unnerving where they could be found. They had a decent roaming range, could quickly find you in their patroll area, and could quickly get to you. What I am trying to get to is this: I didn't feel comfortable exploring in the first Subnautica because Reapers were present. ![]() I only recently played the original Subnautica and I got hooked. I don't play horror games, or psychological horror games, generally. I've played the game now as far as it allows (not got all the achievements, yet), and while I really like the game for what it is I must say that the Leviathans have been a let-down. TL DR: What is missing from this game that made the Leviathans in the first game as scary, or unnerving or terrorising?`
